Movie Nights
Movie Nights are run by North Thoresby Events Committee. For more information please contact Zoe Snell at
In 2020 the Cinema Club will normally meet on the third Friday of the month – unless there are clashes in the Village Hall – so the January 2020 date is the exception below. There may be additional dates to those shown below depending on consultations we are making – for example matinees and films for youngsters.
The experimental period has been very successful indeed with really good audiences. To put the club on a sound financial footing for the future, we will need to charge an entrance fee to £2.50 to cover our costs of the annual licence, DVD purchases and hall hire - but this is a long-term viable figure and unless things change radically, it should not increase again.
Friday 21st February - The Greenbook
Friday 20th March - Downton Abbey
Friday 17th April - Charlie Wilson’s War
If you would like to go on our database to receive information about the forthcoming films email John Sanchez with your contact details
We have the equipment – we just need your involvement. Are you willing to volunteer to help run regular matinees for youngsters?
Among films being considered for future showings are: The Truman Show; Lost in Translation; Good Will Hunting; A River Runs Through It; The Notebook, Bridge of Spies, Burn after Reading. Other suggestions very welcome – broadly a mix of new films and excellent films from the past which stand the test of time.
